Zmation Announces Custom Die Press ToolMarch 13, 1998 -- Portland, OR, USA---Zmation, Inc. announced today the development of a custom Die Press Tool specifically designed for a high force pneumatic riveting application in the electronics assembly industry. The tool incorporates four (4) precision vertical cage bearings, dual horizontal guides with precision bushings, pneumatic cylinder slide, heat treated and hardened anvils, black oxide part specific tooling and press hard stops. An operator manually places a PCB and a rivet plate into the board holder and presses dual palm switches. The parts are automatically transferred into the press, aligned, riveted, and transferred to the unload/load position. This Die Press Tool can also be custom configured for cold stake, heat stake and press fit assembly operations. This system demonstrates some of the design and manufacturing capabilities of Zmation, Inc. for custom automation systems. Zmation also produces standard Automatic Dispensing Systems, Machine Vision Inspection Systems and robotic integration for a wide variety of applications.
